WATERPROOFING

A series of high quality roofing membranes for torch-on application, based on modified bitumen are a high resistance to the effects of aging and UV degradation, a high elasticity and good low-temperature flexibility, a high tensile strength, and they can be:
APP - ' atactic polypropylene' modified bitumen membranes, commonly known as 'plastomeric' roofing use plastic polymer-based modification which imparts greater flexibility and resilience to the membrane. These polymers have excellent resistance to UV light, ozone and oxygen and are less susceptible to aging than the SBS blend. The membranes remain flexible down to -15° C.
SBS - 'styrene butadiene styrene' modified bitumen membranes, commonly known as 'elastomeric' roofing, use rubber modification which enables the membrane to remain flexible even in extreme ambient temperature, especially at the cold end where tests have shown flexibility at -25°C.
ALCA has been using membranes from Polyglass (Italy) and Axter (France) from 1992. These membranes were used to carry out waterproofing works at many constructions in Romania and abroad.
Societatea de Constructii ALCA started a business relationship with the European subsidiary of FIRESTONE in order to use their EPDM membranes (ethylene – propylene – diene – monomer) for waterproofing.

AXTER is a leading industrial player in the construction materials market. The ongoing development of the company is based on the synergy between three activities which are of paramount importance to professionals concerned with the building envelope: the waterproofing of flat roofs and other surfaces, the natural daylighting of buildings and external cladding.

For over 90 years, the Firestone name has been synonymous with quality rubber products, estabilishin a reputation as a pioneer and innovator in rubber polymer technology.
Firestone Buildung Products (a divizion of Bridgestone / Firestone, Inc.) is recognised as a world leader in the commercial roofing industry and their Single-Ply EPDM membrane provides watertight integrity on thousants of commercial and industrial buildings.
The Firestone membranes posses special characteristics. For example:

These membranes may have the thickness varying from 1.52 mm to 2.30 mm, 61 m of length and 15 m of width so that the number of fixed joinings to be as low as possible, in this way the possible errors to be avoided.
By using the designing plans, the design office of Firestone may optimize the material consumption.
